6-12 Ay Beslenme Programı

Why Is the 6–12 Month Period So Critical?

Between 6 and 12 months, babies make a major leap in how they experience and interact with food. This is the phase where eating becomes more than nutrition—it becomes a sensory, developmental, social, and emotional experience.

Babies are developing chewing skills, hand-to-mouth coordination, texture tolerance, and food preferences. They begin joining family meals and forming associations with routine, comfort, and independence. What happens at this stage sets the tone for years of eating ahead.

A well-planned feeding approach during this window nurtures healthy growth and lays the foundation for lifelong eating habits.

Core Feeding Principles (6–12 Months)

At 6 months, your baby still needs breast milk or formula as their primary nutrition source. But their iron and zinc needs increase, so solids become more important.

Key Guidelines:

  • Continue breast milk or formula; solids are complementary, not a replacement
  • Aim for 2–3 main meals + 1–2 snacks per day
  • Offer water daily (100–150 ml) from an open or straw cup
  • Introduce allergenic foods gradually, with observation
  • Prioritize natural, unprocessed, salt- and sugar-free foods
  • Avoid screens or distractions during meals
  • Gradually increase food textures—move beyond purees
